The NAACP was “outraged” over the not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial and called on the Department of Justice to prosecute Zimmerman for shooting Trayvon Martin.

“We are outraged and heartbroken over today’s verdict,” NAACP President Benjamin Jealous said in a statement.

“We will pursue civil rights charges with the Department of Justice, we will continue to fight for the removal of Stand Your Ground laws in every state, and we will not rest until racial profiling in all its forms is outlawed,” Jealous said.

MaseTV has heavily followed the Zimmerman trial these past weeks. The verdict has been set, George Zimmerman, famously known for killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was found Not Guilty by a jury of his peers.

America is heartbroken, Trayvon’s family is staying strong during the outcome. His Father, Tracy Martin tweeted a few minutes after the final verdict.

Celebrities began tweeting out their feelings toward the jurors verdict as well.

Rapper Nicki Minaj tweeted: “May God console the Martins at this time; as well as every other family that’s gone through this type of injustice.”
