Yesterday was the second day of the D23 Expo. What is D23? D23 is the official fan club of The Walt Disney Company with the ‘D’ standing for Disney and ’23’ standing for 1923, the year Walt Disney founded the company. Yesterday at the 4th annual Expo, Disney took the time to reveal the logos of some of their upcoming films and detailed what we should expect from each film.
The Muppets are back from their 2011 film The Muppets with their brand new film Muppets Most Wanted. While on a grand world tour, the Muppets find themselves wrapped into an European jewel-heist caper headed by a Kermit lookalike and his dastardly sidekick. Even though it is a ‘sequel’, the cast is completely new with Salma Hayek, Tom Hiddleston, Debby Ryan, Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, Danny Trejo and more joining the cast. Expect Muppets Most Wanted to hit films March 21st of next year.
We have all seen the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty but we have never been told the story from the main antagonist point of view and that is what Maleficent will do. With Academy Award winning actress Angelina Jolie will play the “Mistress of All Evil” as the film is expected to hit the big screen July 2nd of next year.
To introduce the next film, filmmakers Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird unveiled a mysterious black box that was found in the basement of the Disney Animation building that had “1952” inscribed on it. The contents of the box was later revealed at the Expo but much is still unknown of the upcoming film Tomorrowland as Drew McWeeney of Hit Fix revealed a synopsis of the upcoming fim:
“A teenage girl, a genius middle-aged man (who was kicked out of Tomorrowland) and a pre-pubescent girl robot attempt to get to and unravel what happened to Tomorrowland, which exists in an alternative dimension, in order to save Earth.”
What is known that George Clooney, Judy Greer, and Hugh Laurie will all be starring in this action packed film expecting to hit the big screen on December 12, 2014.

Saving Mr. Banks has author P. L. Travers (Emma Thompson) reflect on her difficult childhood while meeting with filmmaker Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) during production for the adaptation of her eponymous novel. Ruth Wilson, Colin Farrell, B.J Novak, and Paul Giamatti will also join the cast as the film will be on the big screen later this year on December 20th.
