Today on ESPN’s First Take, Tracy “T-Mac” McGrady took to announce that he is retiring from the NBA – but not basketball as a whole, with a chance of him returning to China to continue playing. McGrady who was drafted straight out of high school went on to play 16 seasons in the NBA averaging 19.6 PPG, 5.6 RPG and 4.4 APG. McGrady who had stints with the Raptors, Magic, Rockets, Knicks, Pistons, Hawks and Spurs was never able to get out the first round of the playoffs until he rode the bench with the Spurs to the NBA Finals in which they will eventually lose to the Miami Heat in 7 games.
The two time NBA scoring champ will be remembered for what he single handed did to the the San Antonio Spurs on December 12, 2004. While playing for the Houston Rockets, Tracy McGrady managed to score 13 points in the final 35 seconds game to bring a 76-68 Spurs lead to a 81-80 Rockets victory.
