If you were in High School in the early 2000’s like me, then you know one of your favorite dances was the Chickenhead and one of the songs that you could not stop moving to was J-kwon’s “Tipsy“. I remember doing the song in my lunch room at the school parties…don’t judge me. The hit took over the airwaves in 2004, peaking at #7 on the Billboard charts. Born Jerell Jones in St. Louis, Missouri, the rap anthem was J-kwon’s only hit. So where is the ‘Hood Hop” rapper now?
He releasesed Hood Hop 2 and Hood Hop 2.5 albums following his debut which both flopped (I mean, if you name all three of your albums the same exact thing, how could you expect them not to flop) and then went missing from the radar in February of 2010. He “took some time out” from the spotlight and most recently recorded a diss track towards Odd Future and Pusha T that nobody heard in June of this year. Looks like he’s trying to release Hood Hop 3.7 any day now…somebody find him and stop him.
