18-year-old Niya Kenny was the brave student who recorded the violent arrest of the young high school student who was slammed and dragged out of class by a local South Carolina school officer.
Kenny was vocal about her shock with the officers’ actions, and boldy refused to give up her recorded video of the incident. Shortly after the first girl was arrested, Kenny was also arrested for showing any concern over her classmate’s well-being:
“I was screaming ‘What the f, what the f is this really happening?’ I was praying out loud for the girl. I just couldn’t believe this was happening I was just crying and he said, ‘since you have so much to say you are coming too.’ I just put my hands behind my back.”
The officer had a reputation for being violent with students, so it was only a matter of time before someone caught him on video being too aggressive.
We applaud Niya Kenny for bravely acting out on her concern instead of staying quiet.
