Singer Chrisette Michele hasn’t been on the mainstream radar lately, so that might explain her recent decision to perform at Donald Trump’s Presidential Inauguration on Friday.
It was recently confirmed that the “Refill” singer was a last-minute selection to perform at the controversial President-elect’ inauguration ceremony. Many were not sure she would accept, but it was confirmed by Thursday that she would indeed be performing for Trump and the GOP.
The singer took to Twitter late on Thursday to issue an official statement on her decision to perform and even used a quote from the late great Dr. Martin Luther King.
Well, Black Twitter was not too pleased with Chrisette’ decision, and took to their timelines to express their distaste with the singer.
Film director Spike Lee even took to Instagram where he revealed that Chrisette’s decision to perform at the inauguration has made him change his mind about putting her song his next soundtrack.
Welp! They say bad press is good press so hopefully Chrisette can make this work in her favor.
