Chris Brown’s half latina daughter Royalty and her mom, Nia, are showing off their latina pride in the September issue of Latina Magazine.
The two visited Royalty’s favorite LA play spot, Giggles N’ Hugs, for a mother-daughter photo shoot and to talk the day in the life of Breezy’s #1 girl.
Creating a warm, happy home life for Royalty is a priority for Guzman, as it is for most parents. But in her case, that task is complicated by the fame and bad-boy reputation of Royalty’s talented and internationally infamous dad, whose stormy career on- and offstage has long been a staple of tabloids and celebrity blogs, intensified by our ever-prying, ever-gossiping, ever-reacting 24/7 social media.
Thankfully, Guzman tells Latina, Royalty’s life is all princesses and playtime. This spring, she rode into her fairy-tale second birthday party on a horse. Surrounded by a West Coast winter wonderland created just for her, the curly-haired cutie only had eyes for her favorite Disney princess, Elsa (a costumed actress). “She just did not let her go the whole party,” Guzman remembers. “It was like her dreams came true.”
Guzman first opened up to the media in an exclusive interview on Latina.com this past summer. And while Brown may make headlines daily, to Royalty he’s just Daddy, and her mother’s mission is to keep it that way. “She adores him,” Guzman told us. “Especially when he’s on the road. She always wants to call him. She’s pretty attached to him. I think it’s a very intimate and beautiful relationship that they have.”
Guzman’s journey is especially fascinating to women who find themselves in a similar co-parenting dynamic. “I’m doing all I can to co-parent and make sure Royalty will never see any negativity me and him have. No matter what issues we have, I will always be 100 percent for him to be there and be hands-on.”
Nia took to Instagram to reveal some behind-the-scenes shots of the photoshoot.
