Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave was a target of an almost fatal shooting while he sat in his Maserati at a Brooklyn traffic light on Christmas afternoon.

The “June 5th” emcee, who is currently awaiting trial for an attempted murder charge over a shooting at Irving Plaza this past May, was shot twice while sitting at a red light in his Maserati convertible.

The 34-year-old rapper was driving with his girlfriend in the passenger seat while on their way to spend Christmas Day with their family. While stopping at a red light, a gunman abruptly opened fire through the driver’s side widow of the car around 4:20 p.m, according to law enforcement officials.

Troy was shot twice with one bullet hitting his the shoulder and another grazing his head, law enforcement said.

The native Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Roland Collins, was able to drive for a few more blocks before he crashed his car and a witness took him to the nearest hospital where he has been listed in stable condition.

Police had yet to arrest anyone over the shooting by early Monday.

Troy Ave, who currently wears an ankle bracelet while out on $500,000 bail following a May shooting backstage at a T.I. concert that left his bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, dead, is currently fighting against second-degree attempted murder and an illegal weapons charge.

Troy’s lawyer, Scott Leemon spoke on behalf of his client following the shooting, “Tonight, Troy Ave was targeted again — at Christmas….Thankfully, he will survive the second attempt on his life. As we have said from the beginning, he is a victim.”

According to another attorney, Troy was able to prevent the shooting from becoming fatal when he spotted the shooter just in time.

Collins “looked to his left. He saw that the guy had a gun and was about to fire, and he started driving away,” John Stella, told the New York Daily News. “He’s in pain, but he’s grateful. He said to me that he feels blessed that this wasn’t fatal,” Stella added.

Troy Ave is due to appear in court over the May concert shooting on Jan. 26.

Rapper 50 Cent has since posted up a photo while visiting Troy Ave in the hospital.
