Bothered by the apparent onslaught of female celebrities baring it all on social media and in music videos? So is Rashida Jones.
The “Parks & Recreation” actress took to Twitter to express her frustration with what she considers to be a trend in celebrity culture today.
“This week’s celeb news takeaway: she who comes closest to showing the actual inside of her vagina is most popular,” Jones, 37, wrote, then added the hashtag, “Stop acting like whores.”
There has been a bevy of Hollywood beauties stripping down to their skivvies on social media and in music videos, but the former “Office” star stays away from naming anyone in her Twitter rant.
Instead, she explains that the larger issue is with what we consider celebrity culture, and accept as the “norm.”
“There is a whole generation of young women watching,” she said. “Sure, be SEXY but leaving something to the imagination.”
“Let me clarify. I don’t shame ANYone for anything they choose to do with their lives or bodies…BUT I think we ALL need to take a look at what we are accepting as ‘the norm.'”
To turn down the heat, Jones concluded the controversial discussion with her usual wit.
“Also, calling on all men to show me dat a–.”
