This week’s first, and craziest, challenge required the contestants to rip the runway down the front of a Las Vegas skyscraper for Guess CEO Paul Marciano! Even I was scared as I watched a demo that had the contestants freaking out!
While in hair and makeup we got to see a more in-depth look at the new contestants and their personalities. Bianca is the cute, flirty girl who has a crush on Mike (the oldest in the house, and drives an ice cream truck back home). Mike also has a crush on Bianca so we’ll stay tuned to see if something pops off between the two this season. Renee admitted that she’s intimidated by Jourdain because of how much she already looks like a professional model.
However, it was Chlea who stole the show when she had the NERVE to try and tell Queen Bitch herself, Kelly Cutrone, how to deliver criticism to people…..Of course Kelly tore her a new one, but Chlea still gets an A for trying.
Nina and Chris went first, as Nina freaked everyone out by slipping right as she was lowered down the wall. Nina did horribly, while Chris actually rocked it, and the girls complained that they guys get to wear flats while they have to wear platform heels. Don, who was petrified, showed it all the way down the down the runway until he touched te floor, it was pretty funny to watch. Chris’ runway walk was such a disappointment, as he walked like a penguin all the way down the runway. Marvin did AMAZING, as he swagged it out down the side of the building before he totally RIPPED the runway!
However the two that stood out the most to the judges were Marvin, of course, and Renee, who won the first challenge. Upon arriving home the contestants were hit with their scores from the challenge with Bianca and Mike having the lowest scores, which they used as a way to flirt and move closer together…makes sense. We got to see how cocky and confident that Marvin was with the ladies, (in true Bronx fashion), as he flirted his way around the house with every single female contestant. It was actually very nice to watch all the housemates getting along, which usually lacks in previous seasons with all female contestants.
The contestants met with Tyra who informed them of the next challenge, which required them to pose as Husband and Wife in true Vegas fashion. During hair and makeup we got to see the contestants flirting and getting to know each other better, with Marvin and Bianca showing major interest in each other. Bianca and Marvin seem to be the biggest flirts in the house, so it’ll be fun to watch them interact in the house. Jourdain revealed to us that she was once married, despite being only 19 years old. She still seemed very hurt over the divorce, and found it hard to talk about to the photographers and judges. Chris H was upset about posing as a homosexual couple with Don. Both are straight, but Don seemed more comfortable with his sexuality and didn’t mind posing with another man.
It became apparent to the housemates that Mike was a mini drunk, and enjoyed multiple glasses of wine a night. Marvin wasn’t feeling it since it made Mike flirt with “his girl” Bianca, LOL. During the final judging, Mike received poor reviews again with his weak photo, not helping his confidence after having the worst score during the runway challenge.
Marvin got best photo for the week, which was pretty impressive considering he had to model with 5 female models. Don came in 2nd for best photo, while Chris H came in third. The guys definitely outshined the ladies for the first week. It came as no shock that Mike and Bianca ended up in the bottom two, which resulted in Bianca and Chris being sent home….sure hope the Ladies are able to stand a chance against these fierce males this season. Mike got lucky.
