Killer Mike Urges Michael Jordan to Invest Profit From Olympic Air Jordan 5 to Black-Owned Bank [Pics]

Atlanta rapper Killer Mike became a major figure during Bernie Sanders failed campaign after getting thousands of African Americans to support the Vermont Senator during his run for President of the United States.

Now the rapper is using his newfound political power to motivate many prominent figures within the Black community to invest their money in ways that inspire other Black people to find ways to better invest their money, particularly within Black banks.

The “A.D.I.D.A.S” rapper recently called on Michael Jordan to invest profits from his latest Jordan sneaker into his local Black-owned bank, and urged for other Black people to do the same, while investing into their futures and not just their closets.

Known just as well for his outspoken views on racial issues as his aggressive lyricism, Killer Mike has never been one to shy away from discourse. After hearing about Michael Jordan’s generous donation to efforts in ending police violence, the legendary rapper wanted to see a little more from the GOAT.

On an Instagram post, Killer Mike wrote a letter intended for Jordan. After acknowledging his donation, the Run The Jewels rapper had another suggestions. The IG post included a picture of the Olympic Air Jordan 5, the profits of which Killer Mike suggested be entirely donated.

For what it’s worth, this wasn’t an angry post that pointed a finger at MJ for not doing enough. In fact, Killer Mike makes it a point to acknowledge Jordan’s status and his power as an example to other athletes. One has to wonder if Jordan gets word of this request and what his response will be. Time will tell. One thing’s for sure, there’s no doubt that the GOAT reaching out with his checkbook is going to make other athletes consider doing more of the same.
