Kanye West Friend Reveals He Suffered From Memory Loss During Period of Erratic Behavior [Video]

Malik Yusef is a longtime friend and collaborator to Kanye West and when recently asked about the state of Ye’s health, Yusef was very candid in revealing that Kanye suffered from memory loss during his prolonged period of erratic behavior in 2016.

“I’ve been to his house. Sat down with him for about 6, 7 hours. Just walking through his health and recovery,” he said. “His memory’s coming back. Yeah, his memory’s coming back, which is super good. And just healing. Spending time with his family. Saint [West, his child] is getting big and he’s walking and playing with toys so, you know, that invigorates him.”

Yusef has worked with the Kanye since his first album and even helped with Ye’s two songs from “The Life of Pablo” album ― “Ultralight Beam” and “Famous” ― which were nominated for Best Rap/Sung Performance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, as well as Best Rap Album for TLOP.

Many fans of Kanye recall a tweet sent out by another friend and collaborator to the artist, Rhymefest, who said he hoped the artist would get “healthy” and “happy” and mentioned that Ye “needs help, in the form of counseling.”

Screen Shot 2017-02-14 at 12.36.42 PM Following the tweet from a year ago, Kanye was hospitalized in Los Angeles later in 2016 for exhaustion after police received a call for help from Ye’s personal trainer. Ye’s hospitalization came after a prolonged period of strange behavior from West that included odd Twitter rants, criticism of Beyoncé, the cancellation of his tour and support for President Donald Trump.

Ye is currently in New York for New York Fashion Week. We wish him all the best.
