Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail” sold 528,208 copies in its first week on shelves.
The numbers are in, and Jay-Z pulled through, as expected, with the #1 debut on the charts this week. Magna Carta Holy Grail actually moved more units than expected– selling a whopping 528,208 copies opening week, according to HitsDailyDouble.
According to these sales, Jay has beat out J. Cole, Wale, Mac Miller, and even his little bro Yeezus for the highest selling hip hop album this year.
Let’s not forget Drizzy Drake who’s set to drop this Septemeber, however with Jay-Z’s deal with Samsung nobody is touching him this year.
In related news, Ciara‘s self-titled album managed to debut at #2, moving around 57k.
