Actress Gweneth Paltrow only lasted four days in her attempt to show the world that she could live a week eating the same foods that poor families are forced to eat during a new Snap Challenge for wealthy people.
Gwyneth Paltrow is less like the average person than she would like you to think.
After Chef Mario Batali challenged the actress to feed her family for a week on a $29 budget — what low income families on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) receive — Paltrow admitted in her Goop newsletter that she failed.
“As I suspected, we only made it through about four days, when I personally broke and had some chicken and fresh vegetables (and in full transparency, half a bag of black licorice),” she confessed. “My perspective has been forever altered by how difficult it was to eat wholesome, nutritious food on that budget, even for just a few days—a challenge that 47 million Americans face every day, week, and year.”
