Apple Worldwide Developers Conference Opens In San Francisco

Drake’s absence was clearly noticeable during Jay Z’s Tidal announcement a few months back. However, it all makes sense now that Drake just acted as a spokesman for Apple’s new music streaming service, Connect.

During the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco the Canadian rapper said that he will be releasing his next album exclusively through Connect. Connect will act as a music streaming feature of Apple Music, that may be in direct competition with TIDAL and Spotify.

Connect was made to allow artists to interact with fans, the same way Tidal claims to do. Signed and independent music artists can post song lyrics, photos and music that will be shared directly with their fans. The material will then link to social media and the artists’ websites.

“Focus on your body of work,” Drake says, according to The Verge. “Instead of having to post your stuff on these different and sometimes confusing places, it’s all in one place: Connect.”

Tidal or Connect…..Hmmm decisions decisions.
