Yesterday morning a glitch on Delta‘s website resulted in many flights showing up with extremely dirt cheap prices from 10am-12pm. Many people were able to snag round trip flights to Hawaii, Vegas, Florida and many more locations for just under $100. Some were even able to snag flights for under $10.
How crazy is that? What a gift from Delta. The best part is, they are honoring all of these purchases made during the time of the glitch. Bet that won’t happen again.
Some folks took to twitter to express their feelings about the glitch win:
“CHRISTMAS MIRACLE ALERT: Just bought a round trip ticket from Charlotte to LA for $46. Thanks #delta.”
“Just bought a round-trip flight home with #Delta for $85…..MY DAY IS MADE!”
Meanwhile, others (including myself) were left in the cold, and wish we could have scored on this deal:
“I was one of those people who was looking for #flights right when the #Delta glitch happened but couldn’t book a ticket/search 4anything.”
Delta made moves very quickly and the original fares were back up by noon. Other booking sites like Priceline also suffered because of these errors but, not for too long.
By early afternoon Delta had issued an official statement stating that all fares purchased will be honored.
“For a portion of the morning today, some prices on delta.com and other booking channels were incorrectly displayed, resulting in lower than usual fares for customers. The situation has been resolved and the correct prices are being displayed. Delta will honor any fares purchased at the incorrect price.”
Congrats to those who scored! Way to end the year with a bang.
