The 2016 BET Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night, and the live award show was one for the history books.

Black Entertainment Television spent the whole night making sure that the late Prince was properly honored in a number of moving tributes by Erikah Badu, Bilal, Maxwell, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, and Sheila E.

Aside from Beyonce’s powerful opening number with Kendrick Lamar, artists like Usher, Desiigner, and Future also took the stage. And actor/activist Jesse Williams stole the show with his powerful acceptance speech.
