Rapper Azealia Banks is making a name for herself as an outspoken revolutionary within the hip hop community.
Her recent attack against femcee Iggy Azalea made many begin to pay attention to the overlooked rap artist. With her new found recognition within hip hop, Azealia is making sure to speak all of her mind.
Azealia recently called out the American government for not holding true to their end of the bargain when it comes to the “reparations” still owed to Blacks following the end of slavery.
The young artist makes a great point, while continuing to promote racial issues instead of her music.
Rapper Azealia Banks took to Twitter to advocate for reparations. The 23-year-old entertainer put out a series of tweets decrying major corporations for profiting off of slave labor.
“ITS MY MONEY, AND I WANT IT NOWWWWW!!!!!!” Banks said in a tweet Friday. She said that these companies owe African-Americans up to $100 trillion. She even went as far as naming corporations such as Aetna, New York Life Insurance and JP Morgan Chase who she claims have benefited off of slavery.
She linked to reports on how Native-Americans, Holocaust survivors have received some form of reparations from the United States and Germany.
She also said that she would sacrifice her music career for the fight for reparations.
Banks is no stranger to speaking her mind on controversial topics. Last week during a radio interview she called white Australian rapper Iggy Azalea for misappropriating black culture. She also called fellow rapper T.I. a “shoe-shining c**n’ for his promotion of white rapper.
