It looks like mainstream magazines are finally being fearless when it comes to having a Black woman grace their cover.
For far too long international magazines have been skeptical at placing Black women on the cover out of fear that international audiences wouldn’t receive them well.
However, despite the onslaught of strong racially charged tension as a result of Ferguson, Charleston, and beyond, it seems to be an amazing time for Black women in Hollywood.
Prominent Black female celebs are dominating the magazine covers of some reputable magazines. Kerry Washington looks breathtaking on the September cover for Self Magazine. Serena Williams, Beyonce, Queen Latifah, and more are seen looking flawless on the covers of Vogue, Variety, NY Magazine, and more.
