With the colder season approaching, it is important more than ever to take extra care of your skin. Cold weather causes super dry skin, and ladies no one likes a Ashy Larry.
Here are 5 essentials in protecting your skin:
1. Drink plenty of water. Having healthy skin starts from the inside. If you don’t drink at least 8 glasses of water a day your skin will become dehydrated and dry. Drinking plenty of water will also help in the prevention of cracked lips, which is another thing cold winter comes with.
2. Exfoliation is everything! Slapping on lotion is not enough. You should buy a luffa for your shower. You can also use a body scrub in the shower. Body scrubs you find in your local drug store can contain a lot of added, unnessecary ingredients including dyes, perfumes and other man made ingredients. So create your own natural one with ingredients you have at home for a fraction of the price that work even better.
4. Moisturize as soon as you get out the shower. Don’t even towel dry. The water from your shower helps to lock in the moisture from your lotion into your skin. Use extra dry skin formulas, Shea butter, coco butter, or my personal favorite, coconut oil.
5. Never leave home without lip balm! Buy more than one lip balm and store them places you are the most. For example keep one at work, home, your bag and favorite jacket. Chap lips and feel terrible, so keep those lips kissable.
