An 11 year old girl from Yemen opens our eyes to the horrors of forced marriage. This little girl name Nada Al-Ahdal fled from her family to her uncle’s house, after they tried to force her into marriage. She documents her feelings toward the situation, and speaks up for many other young girls like her who are forced daily into marriages they don’t want.
She goes into deep detail on how her parents threatened her life if she didn’t marry, and how many other girls commit suicide rather than force themselves into a depressing lifelong committment with a man they don’t know or love.
We’re glad that Nada spoke up. She is extremely beautiful, brave and courageous, and helps open everyone’s eyes to the injustices going on to some young children in other parts of the world.
